360 VR video documentary of ANSOO : Tune of Reunion created by Özgür Önal (2020) This documentary has been made out of the “Music of Interbeing” workshop, a 5-day/4-night music journey which was held by Ansoo in collaboration with Neyistan, in August 2018, in Gökçedere, Yalova, Turkey. Ansoo is a community dedicated to performing and teaching Persian classical/ethnic music with a cultural exchange approach. Neyistan is a life project by an Iranian-Turkish couple based on exploring Islamic and indigenous wisdom of Anatolia and Persia mostly through ceremonial music, mystical poetry and sema tradition. The workshop participants were from different nationalities: Iranian, Turkish, German, Mexican and Spanish. They learned and worked with the elements of Iranian and Turkish musical system such as Dastgah and Makam on instruments like Tar, Setar, Bağlama, Ney and Bendir. They also recited excerpts from Iranian and Anatolian mystic poetry and turned those verses into music pieces. After the workshop, a concert was held in Moda Sahnesi, Istanbul, where the participants performed their composed and rehearsed music pieces to a small audience as a souvenir from their tuneful journey. *The film narration is derived from an interview with Hossein Vali and Sara Zandevakili from Iran, the founding couple of Ansoo.
